1. Who we are
This service is operated by Jean-Michel Portefaix, French Expert from Expertise France seconded to Enterprise Ireland (EI). Contact: jean-michel.portefaix@expertisefrance.fr
2. What data we collect
Through this form, we collect the following personal and professional data:
- Identity: title, first name, last name, role, organisation
- Contact details: email address, phone number (optional)
- Professional profiles: LinkedIn, Google Scholar / website, ORCID (optional)
- Research profile: keywords, description of activities, service offer, TRL stage
- Any additional context you choose to provide
3. Why we process your data
Your data is processed for the following purposes:
- Matching: to identify open European funding calls (Horizon Europe, EIC, ESA, EuroHPC, etc.) relevant to your research profile
- Partner identification: to suggest potential research or industry partners in France and Ireland
- Reporting: to produce and send you a personalised EU Funding & Partnership report by email
The legal basis for processing is your explicit consent, given by ticking the checkbox on the submission form (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
4. How long we keep your data
Your data is retained for a maximum of 24 months from the date of submission, or until you request deletion. After this period, all personal data is permanently deleted from our systems.
5. Who has access to your data
Your data is processed by:
- Jean-Michel Portefaix / Expertise France — for analysis and report generation
- Anthropic (Claude API) — used to analyse your profile and identify matching calls. Data is processed under Anthropic's privacy policy and is not used to train AI models.
- Make (Integromat) — used to automate data transfer between the form and our internal systems
- Notion — used as our internal database to manage submissions
Your data is never sold or shared with third parties for commercial purposes.
6. Your rights under GDPR
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:
- Right of access: request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Right to rectification: request correction of inaccurate data
- Right to erasure: request deletion of your data at any time
- Right to restrict processing: request that we limit how we use your data
- Right to withdraw consent: withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing
- Right to lodge a complaint: with your national data protection authority (CNIL in France, DPC in Ireland)

7. Data transfers
Some of our service providers (Anthropic, Make, Notion) may process data outside the European Economic Area. These transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions) in compliance with GDPR Chapter V.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
